The Content Chop Shop is a (mostly) one-woman shop that provides customized content marketing services for small and large businesses, public entities and nonprofit organizations.

I specialize in:

  • website content

  • newsletters

  • email marketing

  • blogs

  • social media messaging

  • print and digital advertisements and more

Content has become an overwhelming part of any small business's marketing plan. Between websites, blogs, social media platforms, emails, and advertisement it can feel like all you're doing is writing, rather than running your business.

My goal is to take the burden of planning, writing, scheduling and analyzing all of these forms of content off you and your team so that you can do the work you are really good at and really love to do.

I also work hand-in-hand with design teams of all sizes, so if you're a designer, developer or marketing team with clients who are struggling to provide you with content, I can step in and help create a streamlined process that makes everybody happy and gets projects out the door.

Sound good? Let's get started.

I am a passionate promoter of good writing and small businesses. I grew up in a small, family-owned construction company, which is what inspires me when working with clients to help them craft compelling messages.

After graduating from Old Dominion University's Undergraduate Creative Writing program and Graduate Professional Writing certificate program, I took on the position of Executive Director of the nonprofit, Buy Fresh Buy Local Hampton Roads. While I was there, I had the opportunity to work with over a hundred small businesses including farms, retail operations, markets and restaurants, promoting the local food movement and helping small businesses reach their market. This experience made me realize just how many small businesses and organizations had a need for professional writing and content marketing services, but had no idea where to go to find it.

So in 2014, I left the nonprofit to start The Content Chop Shop, and I have been happily taking the burden of writing off dozens of amazing business owners, design teams and organizations ever since.
